EP82

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

This weekend was sort of crazy. I was volunteered to help at a barmitzvah and ended up sitting next to Congressman (Or should I say Sir?) McDermott. On the way home I stopped at a Geocaching event and got to use the “Colorado” made by Garmin and snagged a geocoin that was being given away. Afterwards I met a guy who let me use his XO Laptop (used in the OLPC project). That night I went to Twisted Flicks with friends and went home. I was also able to decorate my science notebook with an image thats been sitting on my computer for awhile. I used a new process that’ll be helpful for future projects.

The Sky Is Falling

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

So, apparently there’s this spy satellite falling from the the sky and it is potentially poisonous, or carrying the andromeda strain or whatever. Supposedly a “Lacrosse” class satellite about the size of Hubble and on a classified orbit (discovered by amateur astronomers) and knowledge of the potential crash zone is also classified (read as unknown). Ready for the Cloverfield crash yet?

EP81

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

What Causes Diseases? Turns out everything. A product of my crazy biology class. The only thing we forgot is aliens, TV and bipartisan politics. Then, in English class our substitute had us respond to a question about leadership and heroism on my teachers online forum. Then this wormhole opened up and created a microcosm of the internet resulting in spamming by unknown parties. I’ve removed the 150 pages of blank lines that someone added in one of the posts. All I can assume is that someone from another class knew we were using the message board (which lacks all but the most basic spam proofing) and started posting with our names since some of the people who posted didn’t even have a computer.

Happy Deep Day!

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Happy Deep Day everyone. Or Trieste day, or ’scaph day, or Challenger Deep day, or just the general anniversary of the exploration of the Mariana Trench. Would that be considered an un-summiting? Anyway Donald Walsh and Jacques Piccard went to hell and back and lived to tell the story. Shame we haven’t been back in 48 years. You can always learn more here.

What am I up to now? It’s my first ever music video. Might take a while though. I’ll thank Noah in advance for helping me film it, now everyone thinks were both terrorists for filming through barbed wire fences and looking closely at cellphone antennas and electric pylons.

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Look, they finally came out with a reasonable hydrogen fuel cell phone.
Oh, great, Bush has one now? Wonder what he’s doing.
