EP82

This weekend was sort of crazy. I was volunteered to help at a barmitzvah and ended up sitting next to Congressman (Or should I say Sir?) McDermott. On the way home I stopped at a Geocaching event and got to use the “Colorado” made by Garmin and snagged a geocoin that was being given away. Afterwards I met a guy who let me use his XO Laptop (used in the OLPC project). That night I went to Twisted Flicks with friends and went home. I was also able to decorate my science notebook with an image thats been sitting on my computer for awhile. I used a new process that’ll be helpful for future projects.

Pretty sweet labtops…..classical images of starving African children.
I wish people would know that is how Africa looks, or at least in the Western part of Uganda per se. It would be interesting to see how the labtops affect education in developing nations, when half the time it is like a 1:200 teacher to student ratio (why American teachers complain so much). Being to lazy to read wikipedia or the website, does every child get one or is it issued to schools?

On a different note I was confused about your journal picture. At first it looked like she ripped out something from somewhere, possibly her nose. I don’t think I would have the patience to do that……maybe for a noble cause or a marshmallow.
